Good health info

Got the Health + Ancestry Report from Vitagene. It was pretty cool getting the rundown on my health stuff and where my family came from. The kit showed up fast, like, within a week. Sending it back was easy too. The report itself was detailed, not too hard to figure out. I liked seeing what foods might be good for me. Definitely worth checking out if you're curious about your DNA.

Good value on bundle

I was looking for a good deal on a DNA test and Vitagene had a bundle savings offer for their Vitality Bundle. It seemed like a lot of info for the price compared to other places. The discount applied smoothly at checkout, which was nice. I ended up getting a fair bit off the original price. The results came in, and it's a lot of data to go through. For what I paid, it felt like a good investment into my health. Happy with the purchase.

Report and supplements review

I purchased the DNA Health + Ancestry Report along with some Magnesium Glycinate and Vitamin D3. The ordering process was straightforward on their website. The DNA kit arrived in about 6 days, and I sent it back promptly. Results for the report took roughly 3 weeks to come back, which was within the timeframe they stated. The health insights were detailed, covering nutrition and exercise. I found the report easy to navigate and understand, though some sections required a second read to fully grasp. The supplements arrived separately a few days after I ordered them; they seemed like good quality and I've been taking them. Customer support was responsive when I had a question about my ancestry results, they got back to me in about 24 hours. Overall, it was a solid experience.

Can I use my FSA card for this? Would be nice to not pay out of pocket.

D Daniel Nguyen 1 month ago
I'm pretty sure it's not. Most of these DNA tests aren't considered medical expenses by FSA/HSA, afaik.

No, generally these kinds of wellness tests aren't covered by FSA/HSA. It's more for actual medical treatments or diagnostics ordered by a doctor.

Has anyone tried their personalized supplements? Wondering if they're actually good quality or just generic stuff.

L Linda Gomez 3 weeks ago
I got the magnesium and vitamin D from them after my report and they seem decent. No complaints so far, feel like it's helping.

My buddy swears by their personalized recommendations. He said the Omega-3 he got from them was way better than what he used to buy at the store.

Thinking about getting the Health + Ancestry kit for myself and my mom. Any deals if I buy two at once?

S Susan Smith 4 weeks ago
Yeah, I think they sometimes do tiered discounts where you save more if you buy multiple kits. Check their site, often pops up around holidays too.

Definitely saw something about that around Black Friday last year. Worth looking into bundle deals or if there's a specific promo running for multiple purchases now.

How long does it usually take to get the results back after you send in the kit? I'm in San Diego, CA.

R Rachel Moore 1 month ago
Mine took about 3-4 weeks from when I mailed it in till I saw the reports online. This was a few months ago.

Yeah, pretty much what the other person said. Expect about a month. It felt a bit longer than I thought but it was accurate.

Is Vitagene legit or should I just stick with 23andMe? Heard mixed things.

O Olivia G. 1 month ago
Vitagene is legit. I used them and found the health insights really useful. It's different from 23andMe though, focuses more on health actions.

They're legit. I mean, it's not medical advice, but it gives you some interesting info to work with. Comparisons with 23andMe usually come down to what you're most interested in, ancestry vs health.
